What we do

Six things, done properly — and explained.

  1. 01

    Personal Tax

T1 returns for individuals and families — employment, self-employment, investments, rental income, and newcomers to Canada. We find the credits you are owed and explain what changed year over year.

  2. 02

    Corporate and Small Business Tax

T2 corporate returns, GST/HST filings, and tax planning for incorporated owner-managers. Salary-versus-dividend decisions, instalments, and keeping your corporation in good standing.

  3. 03

    Bookkeeping

Monthly or quarterly books kept clean and current — reconciliations, categorization, and reports you can actually read. No shoebox of receipts left until April.

  4. 04

    Payroll

Source deductions, remittances, ROEs, and year-end T4s and T5s handled on schedule, so your staff are paid correctly and the CRA stays satisfied.

  5. 05

    Business Advisory

A sounding board for the decisions that move the numbers — incorporation, cash-flow planning, pricing, and knowing what a given choice will cost you at tax time.

  6. 06

    CRA Audit Support

Reviews, audits, and the letters nobody wants to open. We respond on your behalf, assemble the documentation, and deal with the CRA so you do not have to.

Why Wise

A smaller firm, on purpose.

Boutique means you are not a number in a queue. It means continuity, attention, and advice that fits your actual situation.

  • Available year-round

Tax questions rarely arrive in March. We are here in July when you are buying a property and in October when you are thinking about a bonus — not just at the deadline.

  • We answer

Calls and emails returned the same business day, by the person who actually knows your file. No call centre, no being passed around.

  • Plain-language advice

You will leave every conversation knowing what we did, why it matters, and what it means for the money in your account. Judgment, translated.

  • Local and accountable

A Don Mills practice with a fixed address and a name on the door. We are part of the same community you are, and we plan to be here next year too.

How it works

Working with us, start to finish.

  1. 01

    A first conversation

We sit down — in the office or by phone — and you tell us what is going on. We listen, ask the right questions, and tell you plainly whether and how we can help. No charge for the first consultation.

  2. 02

    A clear engagement

You get a written scope and a flat, predictable fee before any work begins. You always know what we are doing and what it costs — no surprise invoices.

  3. 03

    The work, done

We gather what we need with a simple checklist, do the work, and review it with you before anything is filed. You sign off knowing exactly what was done and why.

  4. 04

    We stay in touch

Once filed, we are still your accountants. We flag deadlines, answer the questions that come up through the year, and reach out when a rule change affects you.

A calm, light-filled interior with a desk and comfortable seating for client meetings.

About the practice

Rooted in Don Mills, built on judgment.

Wise Accounting and Tax Services is a boutique CPA practice on Don Mills Road, serving individuals, families, and owner-managed businesses across North York and the Greater Toronto Area. We built the firm around a simple idea: that good accounting is mostly good advice, delivered by someone who knows your situation and tells you the truth plainly.

We are deliberately small. That means the person who prepares your return is the person who answers your call — and the relationship carries from one year to the next. Whether you are filing a first return, running an incorporated business, or sorting out a letter from the CRA, you get considered, unhurried attention.

In their words

Clients who stopped dreading tax season.

Getting my business finances organized used to keep me up at night. Wise streamlined my bookkeeping right away and handled my corporate filing flawlessly — sharp, responsive, and they explain complex tax rules in plain English.
Elena M. Boutique & e-commerce owner
After buying my first rental property, my taxes got a lot more complicated — but Wise made the whole process stress-free. They walked me through every deduction I was eligible for, and it made a massive difference.

Common questions

Answered plainly, before you ask.

Still unsure about something? Send us a note — we are happy to talk it through.

When are the filing deadlines I should know about?

For most individuals, the personal tax (T1) deadline is April 30. If you or your spouse are self-employed, the filing deadline is June 15 — but any balance owing is still due April 30. Corporations file within six months of their fiscal year-end, with tax generally due within two or three months. We track your specific dates so nothing is missed.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Whatever you have — we will tell you what is missing. Helpful items: last year’s return (or your CRA notice of assessment), your slips (T4, T5, T3, etc.), receipts for credits and expenses, and details of any property, investment, or self-employment income. For businesses, bring your bookkeeping records or bank statements.

Do you handle incorporated businesses?

Yes. Corporate (T2) returns, GST/HST, payroll, and year-round planning for owner-managed corporations are a core part of the practice. We help with the recurring decisions too — salary versus dividends, instalments, and keeping the corporation compliant.

Can you deal with the CRA on my behalf?

Yes. With your authorization we become your representative with the CRA, which lets us speak to them directly, respond to reviews and audits, and handle correspondence so you do not have to. Most clients never need to call the CRA themselves.

What does the first consultation cost?

Nothing. The first conversation is complimentary — we use it to understand your situation and tell you plainly how we can help and what it would cost. You receive a clear, flat fee in writing before any work begins.

Do you work with clients outside North York?

We are based at 1090 Don Mills Road and serve clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Much of the work can be handled by phone, email, and secure document sharing, so distance is rarely an obstacle.
